Installation and Adjustment of Screw Conveyor


1. Installation of screw conveyor
1) Before installation, make sure the conveyors have been cleaned and all the components are complete, and installation personnel should fully understand the mounting instructions.
2) The foundation pouring of screw conveyor should be finished 20 days before formal installation. The foundation must be firm and reliable to assure enough supporting force to avoid conveyor subsidence and additional deformation.
3) The conveyor foundation level must be corrected before installation.
a. The longitudinal level tolerance is 1/1000 of the length, the total length is 3 mm.
b. The transverse level tolerance is 1/500 of the width.
4) In accordance with the sequence of head section, intermediate section and tail section, as well as installation drawing & equipment number, arrange the screw conveyor in sequence and install the drive device and cross slide coupling.

5) The assembly of conveyor casing should meet the following requirements:
a. The tolerance of non straightness and longitudinal level is 1/1000 of the length, the full length is 3 mm.
b. The transverse level tolerance is 1/500 of the width.
c. The connections between conveyor casings should be fit closely, and the existence of clearance is not allowable.
d. The conveyor casing and frame should be connected and welded well.
f. The both gaps between the conveyor casing and spiral body should be equal, the permissible tolerance is 2 mm. The tolerance of bottom clearance is ±0.5 mm.
6) The misalignment tolerance of bearing centerline and conveyor longitudinal centerline is 0.5 mm.
7) The inner surface of two adjacent conveyor casings should not have significant height difference in the position of mutual connections.
8) The foundation bolts should be tightened after the good adjustment of all conveyor casings.
9) The low-speed shaft of drive device and the shaft of screw conveyor should be concentric. If cross slide coupling is used, its parallel deviation should not exceed 1/100, displacement deviation is less than 0.2 mm.
10) After the trial assembly of screw conveyor by manufacturer, the unprocessed junction surface should not be modified, especially manual modification. It is forbidden to add extra gaskets between all the unprocessed junction surfaces.
11) Inlet and outlet should be field installation, and welded after the complete conveyor is fixed. The bearing surface of inlet and outlet should be parallel with the axial line of screw conveyor. The junctions between inlet & outlet and pipeline should be fit closely, and the existence of clearance is unallowable.
12) All the connecting bolts should be tightened up to reliable level.

2. Adjustment of screw conveyor
1) All conveyor hanger bearings should connect the shaft reliably.
2) The connecting bolts of hanger bearing and screw shaft should be tightened up.
3) In order to adjust the accumulated length error between conveyor casing and screw body, glue cushions can be added between all conveyor casings when installation, and felt seals be added between conveyor casing and cover.
4) When the low-speed shaft centerline of drive device and the centerline of screw conveyor have the significant height difference, gaskets can be used to adjust the height of drive device.
