Recently, The
anti-corrosion belt conveyor customized by PK Machinery applied in Bangladesh salt factory has been successfully installed, debugged, and trial-run after two months of construction. This equipment is designed to withstand high-salinity environments will enhance local salt production efficiency, becoming a new highlight of China-Bangladesh cooperation.
Bangladesh salt factories have long faced challenges with equipment corrosion and low efficiency. The 800-meter conveyor line designed by PK Machinery can transport 1,500 tons of sea salt per hour.
To address the high-salinity and wetland environment, the
rubber belt conveyor underwent specialized improvements: the conveyor belt uses salt-resistant rubber with an anti-corrosion coating, the drive device is fully sealed, the electrical system is protected against salt corrosion, and the frame is reinforced with pile foundations to adapt to wetland conditions, ensuring stable operation in high-humidity environments.
After the equipment arrived at the port in early 2025, the Chinese and Bangladeshi teams overcame challenges such as muddy conditions during the rainy season and completed the installation three days ahead of schedule.
During the trial run, the
sea salt belt conveyor was operated smoothly, and the equipment parameters remained stable. Compared to the old local equipment, energy consumption was reduced by 25%, and manual inspections were minimized. A representative from the relevant Bangladeshi department stated that the equipment solved long-standing transportation challenges.
Once operational, the salt factory’s annual transportation capacity will increase by 50%, and labor costs will decrease by 30%. This achievement also serves as a "badge of honor" for PK Machinery in expanding the international market, showcasing the strength of Chinese manufacturing.
