Common problems and soluctions of tripper conveyor

Tripper conveyor is a key mechanism in the belt conveying system. It is mainly used for multi-point unloading along the conveyor line. It can move along the track and accurately unload materials into the designated silos or downstream equipment, and is widely applied in industries such as mines, power plants, ports, cement plants, and grain processing.
Common problems and soluctions of tripper conveyor

Belt Conveyor tripper Deviation or Rail Jamming
Possible Reasons:
The track is not installed straight or is deformed.
The wheels are worn or the bearings are damaged.
The driving motors are out of synchronization (for double-driven unloading vehicles).
Solutions:
Check and correct the straightness of the track, ensuring that the horizontal error is ≤ 2mm/m.
Replace the worn wheels or bearings, and regularly add lubricating grease.
Adjust the synchronization of the double-driven motors, and check the parameters of the frequency converter.

        Conveyor tripper motor

Incomplete Unloading or Material Spillage
Possible Reasons:
The angle of the plow-type unloader is inappropriate.
The sealing of the material guide chute is not tight.
The tension of the conveyor belt is insufficient.
Solutions:
Adjust the angle of the plow head (usually between 30° and 45°), ensuring a proper fit with the conveyor belt.
Install rubber sealing strips or replace the worn material guide plates.
Check the tensioning device and adjust the tension of the conveyor belt.
Overheating or Burning of the Traveling Motor
Possible Reasons:
Excessive resistance on the track (accumulated materials, deformation).
Insufficient motor power or unstable voltage.
The brake is not fully released.
Solutions:
Clean the accumulated materials on the track and check the flatness of the track.
Calculate the motor load and ensure stable voltage.
Adjust the gap of the brake to ensure it is fully released during traveling.

        

Faults in the Electrical Control System
Common Problems:
The limit switch malfunctions.
The PLC signal is lost.
The cable reel malfunctions (for mobile power supply type unloading vehicles).
Solutions:
Regularly check the limit switch to prevent poor contact caused by dust accumulation.
Check the shielding and grounding of the signal lines to avoid electromagnetic interference.
Replace the cable reel with a sliding contact line power supply (more reliable for long-distance operation).
