Belt conveyor plow discharger introduction

Date:2025-07-07
View: Point
A plow discharger (also called a plow tripper) is a mechanical device used in belt conveyor systems to divert bulk materials at specific discharge points without stopping the conveyor. It is widely used in industries such as mining, cement, power plants, and grain handling due to its simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Working Principle
The plow tripper operates by lowering a wear-resistant blade (plow) onto the moving conveyor belt, forcing material to slide off to one or both sides. When not in use, the plow retracts, allowing uninterrupted material flow. It is ideal for applications requiring intermediate discharge points without complex machinery.

Key Components
Plow Blade – Made of durable materials (rubber, polyurethane, or steel) to minimize belt wear.
Lifting Mechanism – Hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric actuators for smooth operation.
Side Seals & Skirts – Prevent material spillage during discharge.
Discharge Chute – Guides material to the desired location.
Types of Plow Dischargers
Fixed Plow – Stationary, used for single discharge points.
Traveling Plow – Moves along the conveyor for multiple discharge locations.
Unilateral (One-Side) Discharge – Material flows to a single side.
Bilateral (Two-Side) Discharge – Material splits to both sides.

        Plow Discharger-2

Advantages
Low Maintenance – Fewer moving parts compared to traditional trippers.
Cost-Efficient – Lower installation and operational costs.
Space-Saving – Compact design, suitable for tight spaces.
Flexible Discharge – Can be installed at multiple points.
